First Baptist Church
Discipleship is the process of being transformed into Christ-likeness. The Ministry Area of Discipleship includes the programs, ministries, and opportunities that foster transformation.
Sunday School (D001):
Sunday School is a vital part of Christian discipleship, both in terms of Bible study and in relationship-building. Our Sunday School department offers classes for all age groups, covering a variety of topics. Sunday School begins each Sunday morning at 9am and is a great way to connect to church life. For more information regarding available classes check the website at www.fbcnorthplatte.org, see any of the staff, or contact our Sunday School Superintendent.

Epicenter Youth Ministry (D002):
Epicenter Youth Ministry focuses upon our 6th-12th grade students. Epicenter seeks to draw students closer to God, through faith in Jesus, by becoming empowered by the Holy Spirit. This goal is accomplished through large group gatherings on Sunday nights at 6:30pm in the FBC youth room; through Sunday School and Small Groups, and through trips, camps, and special events designed for students. Adult volunteers are always needed and welcome. Adult leaders will participate in leading games, small group discussion, and help organize events.

Small Groups (D003):
Small groups offer a place to connect with other believers in fellowship; to grow in our understanding of the Bible, as Jesus' own small group of disciples did; to meet the needs of others in your group in ministry; to become equipped for evangelism; and to worship God through practicing godly behavior. Groups study a broad range of topics throughout the academic year. To join a small group, look for times when sign ups are being offered or contact the small group coordinators.
Children's Program (D004):
Wednesday evening is a busy time for parents. We provide a childrens program that includes Bible study, games and music. Kids from kindergarten through 5th grade are welcome every Wednesday night during the academic year from 6-7pm. Kids Club meets in the downstairs Sunday school area. For more information contact the church office.

Vacation Bible School (D005):
One week each summer, our church family joins together to put on an intensive, theme based week of Bible teaching and activities. VBS is open to children from age 4 to those entering 5th grade. Adults are always needed to help lead stations in crafts, videos, drama, worship, snacks, and recreation. There is always room for more students and more leaders.
Team Leaders: Alice Nekuda and Denise Anderson
Camp Moses Merrill (D006):
Camp Moses Merrill Camp and Conference Center located in Linwood, NE is our state American Baptist Church camping facility. Moses Merrill offers a variety of retreats and camps throughout the year to meet just about any need. There are youth camps and retreats, American Baptist Women and American Baptist Men retreats and conferences, music and drama camps, horse care and riding camps, children camps, family camps, and pastor retreats just to name a few. Moses Merrill is always willing to try and accommodate any church who would like to use the facilities for retreats and camps. With up to date cabins, kitchens, and worship space Moses Merrill is always a great place to get away from the day to day grind and encounter God.

Leadership Training (D007):
It is important that our church leadership be prepared for their ministry roles. In order to prepare our members for their ministry settings, our church staff provides periodic leadership training opportunities.
God calls us to be good stewards of that which He has given to us. Our stewardship team serves to remind and encourage the church body in that pursuit.
Team Leader - Woody Falkena
Each fall, the staff organizes a time of retreat in order that the church family may focus on one specific area of ministry and study in-depth and in community.
